Membership
The details of membership are defined in the constitution. Simply put, members must have an interest in scientific wildlife management, be nominated by a current member and be approved for membership by the committee. Membership covers a wide range of natural and social science professions primarily from Australia and New Zealand, but also from other Pacific Rim countries.
- The membership year runs from 1 January to 31 December
- Members receive discounted conference fees
- Memberships can be paid 1-3 years in advance at the current rates
- An electronic newsletter is produced three times annually
- AWMS is affilliated with The Wildlife Society. This allows for joint benefits of members and facilitates a working relationship between societies on wildlife management issues, including joint development of position papers and publications and joint sponsorship of conferences. The affiliation does not provide for free joint membership, but does provide AWMS members with the many of the same benefits as members of TWS without cost and vice versa. Hence AWMS members are entitled to reduced membership rates for TWS services and products such as conference registration fees, certification fees and books. AWMS members are welcome to become members of TWS at standard membership rates (www.wildlife.org.)
The current membership fees are:
| Ordinary Member | $50AUD |
| Institutional Member | $80AUD |
| Student | $30AUD |
| Retired/Unemployed Member | $30AUD |
